Do MSC Cruises Include Meals? Firsthand Experience Your Guide To What is Included

But before you take the plunge, it’s important to understand the caveats of these packages. While they offer a more intimate and upscale dining experience, there may be limits to what’s included in your package. This means you won’t be able to order whatever you like from the regular menu – instead, you’ll have access to a more limited sampler menu without additional costs. Are you looking to elevate your dining experience on your next MSC Cruise? Consider booking a Specialty Dining Package before you board, and save up to 40% on multiple meals at the ship’s top-rated restaurants that are not included in your cruise fare.
MSC Seascape Dining
A standout feature from lunchtime onwards is the pizzeria, where chefs continually cook a range of thin-crust pizzas in a traditional pizza oven. There are meat and veggie options, along with a daily wholemeal pizza. Also showcasing the line's Italian heritage is the excellent pasta station.
Buffet & Restaurants
Choose an MSC Cruises dining package at one of our specialty restaurants, and enjoy a memorable cruise dining experience on board our ships. The restaurant serves an a la carte menu of dishes from China, India, Thailand, Indonesia and Japan. Diners can opt for a set menu Asian dining experience priced at 28 euros, or select sushi, nigari, sashimi, dim sum and other items individually from the menu with prices starting from just 3 euros. Chopsticks are set out on the tables but are not obligatory as cutlery is also provided. Vegetarian, vegan and lighter dishes are noted on the nightly menus in the main dining room, although not in the specialty dining venues.
Dining Delights: Understanding MSC Cruises’ Dining Packages
Enter the magical world of fine patisserie, crafted with love by our team of talented bakers and pastry chefs with meticulous attention to detail. I had pasta which was very good again and I also enjoyed the dessert. On this night guests are invited to dress to impress if they would like to. MSC make all of their own pasta onboard and it’s probably the thing that MSC do best. If you are in doubt about what to get, I’d always recommend the pasta.
We decided to go back to the buffett on deck 8 to grab a quick lunch before hopping off the ship to explore Nassau. We have been to Nassau several times but had never done a walking tour of sights downtown so we decided to do that on our own. You can always add it on later but we recommend you do it before boarding if you choose to add a drink package. Pricing will depend on your cruise itinerary and length. You’re offered a choice of five different drink packages, each with its own unique features, perks, and price. For an extra special treat, make sure to stop by Venchi – the Chocolate Bar on MSC Seascape.

Desserts could include cannoli, ice cream, a cheese plate, molten chocolate cake or cheesecake. While included dining options are good and offer enough variety, MSC Divina’s specialty and for-fee restaurants are worth the splurge. I will board my 7th MSC cruise since Jan 2022 in a week and have been pleasantly surprised by the food. Based on the reviews I read prior to sailing with MSC, I expected it to be terrible. In dozens of meals in the dining room, buffet and specialty restaurants, I have only had one dish I considered inedible and most have been excellent.
Dinner #2
The food is good, not outstanding, but definitely better than your average cruise ship buffet, with a bit of flair and fun. There are plenty of open kitchens where you can watch the chefs prepare the fresh food. These include pasta, pizza, focaccia, an open grill and a rotisserie.

The Italian Gewurztraminer at 30 euros a bottle goes particularly well with the food. One useful feature is that tables have a call button for when passengers want to place a drinks order. You can experience mouth-watering specialities from authentic Asian and French cuisine to succulent steaks, seafood dishes and much more.
Dietary Restrictions on MSC Seashore
Open for 20 hours a day, The Buffet is a great casual option for everyone, from families to couples who don’t want to tie themselves down to mealtimes. It's worth mentioning that the bread served with all meals -- such as oregano focaccia and tomato grissini -- is freshly baked onboard and absolutely irresistible. Looks-wise, it is an attractive green coloured room with rich wooden and brass features and inlaid flooring at the entrance, which gives it an Art Deco-style atmosphere. Tables are available for two, four, six, eight and 10 diners, with one that can seat 12. In my opinion (and I will be able to verify for myself in a few weeks), the quality of MSC food has been maintained or increased where lately other lines are moving in the opposite direction.
We found the service in MSC Seashore's main dining room much better than we experienced on previous MSC cruise ships. Orders were taken quickly, dishes brought out promptly (and hot) and meals were wrapped up in just over an hour. The menus in Le Muse may appear to look like those in the main dining room, but the execution is on an entirely different level. Our pasta at lunch was cooked perfectly, as were all the dishes at dinner. The tables are much further apart than in the Black Crab or Villa Rossa, and the portions even seem bigger.
Lunch has a choice of brunch offerings, appetizers, soups, pasta, entrees and dessert. There's also an Express Lunch where you're guaranteed to get in and out within 30 minutes. MSC Divina restaurants range from casual eateries for a quick bite to gourmet options with a more elegant vibe and decadent décor. Fellow passengers have also noticed this – food on Divina now gets better reviews.
Service was attentive and swift on one night, but slow and intermittent on the other. The food was decent on both opportunities, if unremarkable, and the menus try to cater to the tastes of North American passengers by adding items like surf and turf. Ipanema is open for dinner only but also has three set seatings. Both restaurants offer sea views through large windows. Service in the main dining room is generally efficient but not overly engaging. This post will just be on what is included with your cruise fare.
Only on MSC Grandiosa, the art experience featuring “Damien Hirst, The Virtues” will bring guests closer to the world of fine art with a spellbinding exhibition of original contemporary art. The Teppanyaki restaurant, which is on the upper deck of the Galleria, has seating for 32 people -- two cooking areas, with eight people sat on stools either side. There is always a vegetarian option and often a vegan option on the menu, denoted by symbols. MSC caters well for dietary needs and allergies, with a separate galley where specific requests are catered for.
When it comes to dining on an MSC cruise, food lovers will find an array of tantalizing options to explore. One of the most important factors to consider for the best culinary experience is the timing of your meals. By scheduling your meals strategically, you can avoid long lines and overcrowded restaurants, savoring everything MSC cruise food has to offer. From gourmet restaurants to casual buffets, the variety and quality of the food are sure to enhance your journey. Whether you’re indulging in fine dining or grabbing a quick bite between activities, MSC cruise food ensures a gastronomic adventure that complements the stunning locales you’ll visit.
